Can Politicians get any dumber

Let us take a look at some very prominent Democrats

Sheila Jackson Lee

“I believe this caucus will put us on the right path and we’ll give President Obama a number of executive orders that he can sign with pride and strength.”

“Let us vote to provide for unemployment insurance for working men and women so that faces across America will not have the tear of desperation on their faces.”

“Don’t condemn the gangbangers, they’ve got guns that are trafficked, that are not enforced, that are straw purchased and they come into places even that have strong gun laws.  Why? Because we don’t have sensible gun legislation.”

“I stand here as a freed slave because this Congress came together.”

“I don’t care anything about your disability.”

“And I want to say to my colleagues that I stand here asking us to do what we did not do in Vietnam.  Was to recognize the valiant and outstanding service of our men and women.  And to understand that victory had been achieved.  Today we have two Vietnams, side by side, North and South, exchanging and working.  We may not agree with all North Vietnam is doing, but they are living in peace.  I would look for better human rights record for North Vietnam, but they’re living side by side.  Because that was a civil war.  And because the leadership of this nation did not listen to the mothers and fathers who borned the burden of 58,000 dead and did not declare victory, the mounting death, the violence continued going up and up.  Rather than understanding the political nature of the war in Vietnam, we did not listen to those families.”

and she took an oath to defend the Constitution.  Maybe she should go back to school.  Better yet the people of Texas need to vote her out.

Cory Booker

“Being asked to pay your fair share in taxes is not class warfare. It’s patriotism,”

I want to see That car.  Cory, has an excuse, he went to public school.

Barack Obama

Let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under a McCain…administration.  It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under an Obama administration. So that policy is not going to change.

On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.

I’ve now been in 57 states — I think one left to go.

“No, no. I have been practicing…I bowled a 129. It’s like — it was like Special Olympics, or something.” –making an off-hand joke during an appearance on “The Tonight Show”, March 19, 2009

“The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system.” –in remarks after a health care roundtable with physicians, nurses and health care providers, Washington, D.C., July 20, 2009

“One such translator was an American of Haitian descent, representative of the extraordinary work that our men and women in uniform do all around the world — Navy Corpse-Man Christian Brossard.” –mispronouncing “Corpsman” (the “ps” is silent) during a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, Washington, D.C., Feb. 5, 2010 (The Corpsman’s name is also Christopher, not Christian)

The list can go on and on.  My simple questions is this…why would you want to elect someone like this once let alone two (2) or more times?  We need higher standards for what is considered intelligent.  What we have now just does not cut the mustard.

Is it any wonder we are falling fast?

Like/Love/Respect

There was once a very good man, at least in my eyes, named Robert Bowne.  Bob was my father, and I tell most everyone that as my father if he had a preference between me liking, loving or respecting him he chose the latter.  Most of those who read this will not know the television series “Father Knows Best” nor will you understand the concept.

A child loves their parents, and for that matter even likes them most of the time, until they become teenagers.  At that point in the child’s life they do not understand how ‘someone so old can be so dumb’.  So they begin rebel.  Love held them close, not respect.  Like made them listen, not respect.

That concept is so very rarely taught to children over the last few decades that we have elected “leaders” on the premise of “likability”.  Look where that has gotten us.  Everyone “liked’ the 1st mulatto (look it up if you do not know what it means) to run for the office of President.  Hell, there were many that “loved” him.  As Barbara Walters stated he was the second coming (of what I do not know), the new messiah.

The over tanned white boy was given the Nobel Peace Prize for nothing.  This is how much he was “liked/loved”.  Where was the respect for this wannabe?  He had not accomplished anything other than being elected.  He was not a great orator nor a great leader.  He WAS liked.  NOT RESPECTED.  We are now at the precipice of the re-expansion of Russia, the continued use of chemical weapons in Syria, a Nuclear Iran, the continuation of the WORST recovery in American History, the re-birth of the Taliban and al Qadea, turmoil in Egypt, the loss of Iraq, the utter disrespect (there is that word sneaking in again) from our allies (Canada, England, Germany, et al), and the pushing of the belief that everything is okay as long as someone can pay for you to do it.

God help us!  We are faltering as a people.  We are looking for politicians that we like!  Not those that hold true to their word, that stand up on principle and do not kowtow to the every whim of those around them.

I always liked Howard Baker (look him up).  I appreciated the candor of James Traficant (look him up)  Neither of these men stood by and followed.  The Democrats need a Howard Baker in the Senate (could be Joe Manchin) and God knows that the Republicans need more Louie Gohmerts,  Trey Gowdys and Ted Cruz.

We need more respect in office and less touchy feely like/love warm and fuzzies.  Get some intestinal fortitude (guts, balls, whatever you want to call it) and start to fight for what is right not convenient.  Forget the media.  Forget reelection and do what need to be done.
